Hi everyone.
My name is Sonja Berglind.
I am a mother, grandmother and an artist that lives in downtown Reykjavik, Iceland.
A magical moment happened in my soul, I finally found the courage to change everything… It has been a long journey and a long story that probably started for real after I began to practice Yoga.
Today, I am a certified Soma Breath Instructor currently studying Advanced level 2.
I am also working partly as a Reiki master. I finished two trainings as a Yoga teacher both in Iceland (2014) and Koh Phangan Thailand (2018) as well as Pranayama (500 RYT). In 2019, I became an Innerdance facilitator studying with Pi Villaraza from the Philippines and I have regularly been holding spaces for Innerdance sessions (Innerdance Iceland) over the past 5 years by working with music, frequencies and most recently, adding in more of the Somatic release practices which I believe can help us to connect more with our bodies again.
I have studied a bit of Bio development in Samma Karuna, Thailand. I also took a few acting classes to get my confidence back. I learned how to play drums and guitar as well as how to sing. I even took a few art courses (Myndlistarskòli Reykjavíkur) for art therapy coaching and a masterclass. I am mostly painting with oil when I get into my creative mode and I’ve participated in many big art projects with the main artists for the Secret Solstice festival that was here in Iceland 10 years ago. I have also studied and practiced the Yoga of sound from Vedic Mantras with Russill Paul of the ancient Sri Vidya in India. I am a certified Yoga Nidra teacher from the Mangalam meditation school, which is located in Amsterdam. I took many different dancing lessons including 2 years of belly dancing, yoga dancing and the 5 rhythms dance sessions. I have undertaken singing masterclasses with Labaratorium Pieśní and Anna Bariyani, from Curawaka, to connect more with my voice.
For few years I also dived deep into Shamanism as I went regularly to sweat lodges and did some bathing in the cold sea and waterfalls here in the beautiful Icelandic nature.
I have organised and held spaces for a few small retreats in the forest, focusing on helping other women to rise into their Inner Goddess power with different healing techniques like art, meditation and mantra.
I have discovered that we are much more powerful than we can imagine. I will keep learning and sharing my experiences with love and authenticity as much as I can for as long as I live. My visions and energy are getting stronger and clearer everyday. I am truly grateful for being alive here on this planet to help others.
I think it’s very important to begin to focus on the unique you, your desires and work from there, step by step with your capacity at the moment. My dream is to help as many people to feel more free inside and out in their lives without relying too much on substances but also, for them to learn to be even more playful and confident in their own body, mind and spirit so that they have the ability and power to shift their own energy with different healing modalities like Soma Breath is designed to do.
