SUPERCHARGE PHASE – L.O.V.E. and Rhythmic Breathing Copy

The Supercharge Phase should build with intensity with each of the four rounds.

Part 1: Build L.O.V.E.

The purpose of this phase is to build a higher energetic and vibrational state (L.O.V.E.) and to build the energy around the intention.

Manifesting a desired outcome just isn’t going to work if energy is low, if there are feelings of self-doubt, or low confidence. Remember, we previously mentioned that we want to create a memorable imagined experience that embeds a strong imprint on the brain. We want to increase levels of serotonin and dopamine by creating feelings of love, joy, gratitude, and so on, for embodying the intention so it can manifest.

It is important to create a space where participants feel totally confident in their intention, to the point that they firmly believe that they already have all of the resources they need to make it happen. This will become a subconscious anchor to motivate them moving forward.

Remember: Emotion = Energy in motion

Script from the first round of the Awakening meditation SUPERCHARGE phase:

In the script below, there are a few things to point out.

We know now that inhaling increases heart rate, activates the sympathetic nervous system, and energizes the body, while exhaling slows the heart rate, activates the parasympathetic nervous system, and relaxes the body.

That is why the speaker says “breathing in this vital prana, life force energy”, and “letting go of any tension of the exhale”

We also want participants to increase their vibrational state by using sentences like “Breathing in gratitude, breathing out love”

Finally, notice at the end where the speaker guides the visualisation of a “charge of energy” about to be released.

Script:
“Smooth on the inhale and smooth on exhale keeping consistent with every breath

Feeling the energy building up inside with every breath you take

Creating a super-charge from deep within

You may feel tingly sensations building up inside a charge running through your body, stimulating your own creative potential from deep within

That’s right… … Breath in… …

Keep connecting with a smooth consistent rhythm

Breathing in gratitude… …. Breathing out love … That’s right

Breathing in this vital prana, life force energy

Breathing out your intention, gratitude, to love

Letting go of any tension on your exhale … Breathing in with no force on your inhale

Letting go of any stress or tension that may remain … … Building up that energy… …That life force deep within … … Like an electric charge building up and up…. Now, fully in…”

Other sentences you can use:

  • “Feeling more bliss building up inside with every inhale”
  • “Every sound you make on the exhale, more and more bliss, waves of good feelings washing over you”
  • “Feeling more and more charged with ecstasy, bliss, good, good sensations, good vibrations”

Part 2: Supercharge Breathwork

Rhythmic breathing

We have based our example on 4 rounds of breathwork. In the first round of rhythmic breathing you can do either the 2:4 relax breath or the 4:4 breath.

The following rounds will all be 4:4 breath. What you can also do on the last round is pick the pace up a bit and go to a 2:2 breath after a minute or so.

  • Round 1: 2:4 or 4:4 breathing
  • Round 2: 4:4 breathing
  • Round 3: 4:4 breathing
  • Round 4: 4:4 followed by 2:2 breathing

At the end of each round you will instruct participants to inhale fully, and then exhale completely, holding their breath out for a short period of time. This is called Nisshesha Rechaka Kumbhaka.

Let your participants know that their breathing should be smooth and consistent, just like the movement of a swing or pendulum. There should not be any pauses in breath, and participants can be reassured that they do not need to fill their lungs to full capacity with every inhale, or empty their lungs completely with every exhale. What is important is smooth, diaphragmatic breathing.

Rhythmical breathing hyper-oxygenates the body because you are bringing in more oxygen and releasing more carbon dioxide than normal. This alters the pH of the bloodstream and also creates a stronger electromagnetic field and current through the body.

Your quality of thought is also linked to your breath. HeartMath Institute has conducted studies showing that erratic breathing leads to erratic thinking and that smooth consistent breathing leads to coherent thought.

Mula Bandha (Pelvic Floor Contraction)

At the top of each inhale, you should gently squeeze your pelvic floor muscles. In Pranayama, this technique is called the Mula Bandha, which is a type of Yogic energy lock and it stimulates your root and sacral chakras. In Sanskrit, Mula means root and Bandha means lock.

The pumping action this creates during an Awakening Session creates ecstatic states of bliss. Powerful emotional releases can occur, negative imprints from the past can be cleared, and moments of deep insight inspiration (“divine downloads”) make the SOMA Awakening experience truly unforgettable.
