Opening An Awakening Ceremony Copy
Setting Up The Venue
Arrive early so that you can set up your space to your preference. Set up your sound equipment and do sound tests.
Opening The Ceremony
You may choose to open the ceremony with a ritual of your choice. The opening should take no longer than 30 minutes. For example, maybe you will guide a gratitude prayer or smudge people with sage or Palo Santo. Maybe you will choose to get the participants to connect with each other somehow.

Breathing Technique Explanation, Demonstration, and Try-Out
Remember: Every single body is different, so not every body will move in the exact same way. If someone tells you they are belly breathing, they are.
The Science of Breathing
Show with pulse oximeter how we can affect our pulse by raising it with energy breath and lowering it with rest/relax breath. Nervous system stimulation, hypoxia, and so on.
Note: If you don’t have a pulse oximeter, guide participants to feel their own pulse or heart beat: they will be able to feel their heart rate increase on the inhale and decrease on the exhale.
Describe Workshop Process
Multi-sensory meditation, setting intentions, rhythmic breathing and heart coherence, breath retentions, Mula Bandha explanation (give people a chance to try it out). If you have time you could also show how SpO₂ levels drop during out-breath retention if you have a pulse oximeter.
Shaking or Movement (optional)
Take 5-10 mins to get the blood moving after sitting through the first part.
