Phase 1: Intention Copy

The Intention Phase is designed to help participants bring their focus to the meditation, to set an intention for the meditation, to embody what it is they want to bring into their life, and to guide participants into a deeply relaxed state.

The script you use combined with SOMA music will help participants relax deeply, without drifting off! Participants will still be conscious enough to imagine and embody their intention.

  • Induction
    Bring awareness to breath.
Release all the tension from body on an exhale.
Relax even more with AUM chants.
  • Set and Program the Intention
Guide participants to think of their intention.
Encourage them to embody their intention using all of their senses.

The Induction

The induction is intended to help participants communicate their intention. Guiding participants to move their attention inward and on their breath helps to remove mental distractions so they will be more focused on your guiding voice.

Notice how your voice is during this stage: you should have a calming, relaxed voice. Whether you are reading directly from the script provided or creating your own, that is perfectly fine. What is important is to make sure you communicate a feeling of safety, calmness, and relaxation in your own voice. Remember, you are taking participants on a journey.

Set The Intention

In a weekly class, participants may choose to set an intention for how their ideal week ahead will be, or they may choose to use your class as a weekly manifestation practise for a larger or longer term intention or goal. It is important that the intention is framed positively and beneficial to the participant’s highest good.

As instructors, we want to help our participants create an imprint in their psyche of what they truly want. It can be a material thing, a behavioural change, even an emotional release. Participants can come up with an intention for themselves, or you could decide on a collective intention as a group.

Example:  “It is in my will to receive X in Y days” or “It is in my will to achieve X in the next Y days” or “It is in my will to have a week that is X”

The key is to focus on and imagine what you truly want, not on what you don’t want!

Program The Intention

Once participants are relaxed and you have completed the AUM chants, you will be guiding them to embody their intention or whatever it is they would like to call in to their life, and to imagine it as though it has already happened and they are living it right now.

Ask questions that prompt them to engage all of their senses and encourage them to focus on how good it feels. Raise their Level Of Vibrational Energy (L.O.V.E.) by feeling gratitude for what they want as though it has already happened.

You see, your brain doesn’t know the difference between what is real and what isn’t. When you visualise and use your internal senses to say, ride a bike, the same parts of the brain are activated as when you physically do it.

By imagining in great detail what you truly want, combined with embodying the way you will feel when you have it, you will create a new imprint in your mind of this future state. It is not the imprint itself that creates your future for you, but it will guide you to make better choices towards what you want, so you can get there much faster.

Instead of meditating to “quiet” the mind, in SOMA we harness our incredible mind power and use it to our advantage with techniques like NLP, self-hypnosis, and creative visualisation.

This is how we influence the reprogramming of our brain and install new habits, beliefs, and ideas that are in alignment with who we want to become and to create the life we truly desire.

TIP: It would be helpful for participants to be prepared with an intention before the class. So remind them to think of what it might be next time on their way out of the class.
