In-Breath Retention and Locks
After the breath hold out in the previous section, when you really can’t hold your breath any longer, you take one big inhale. Don’t gasp for air! It should still be a smooth and controlled inhale. At the same time, you will activate the Mula Bandha. As you inhale, visualise bright light of energy shooting up your spine from your pelvic region to your midbrain. Then when you have inhaled fully, drop your chin to your chest for Jalandhara and imagine the energy cannot travel back down your spine.
The in-breath hold brings balance back to your system, charging oxygen through your dilated bloodstream, activating dormant parts of the brain, and raising SpO₂ levels back to normal (95% or over).
The intention has been energised and now it’s time to release it out through the third eye and into the universe!
By holding the breath in and using Mula Bandha, we are sending a huge rush of prana, sexual life force energy, adrenaline, and all of the energy we have accumulated directly to the brain.
This is a highly effective way to create new neural pathways.
Intention + High Energy = Manifestation That Works
The Release Phase is where we can direct our own neurogenesis. By accumulating a lot of supercharged energy and then shooting it to the brain while imagining, and really feeling, the intention is the recipe for manifestation that really works!
What To Say During The Release Phase
Sometimes less is more. When people take that last inhale and hold, it is the perfect time to remind the participants to think of their intention. After that, it’s good to let the music do the talking.
After a few minutes, you will notice people are breathing again. Then you can continue with guided imagery, or with some reprogramming.
Follow the script and Niraj’s lead, remembering that sometimes space is good too. People might be having their own visions and “downloads”, and they will appreciate the time without guidance.
Going Back To Relaxed Breathing
In the first rounds, the in-breath hold can last for 30 seconds, but some people enjoy holding it for longer. Participants are welcome to hold their breath for as long as they like at this point, and they can join in with rhythmic breathing again when they feel ready.
In the final round, remind your participants that they are free to go back to normal breathing whenever they feel ready. Then the final meditation follows.
Final Meditation
The final meditation is designed to give people some space to relax after their intense SOMA Breath workshop, to come back into their senses, and enjoy the feelings of deep relaxation.
Allow time to feel and be present with the experience. In this moment some may even experience a heightened state of bliss.
The final meditation is a great time to say some words of encouragement, love, reassurance, motivation, and so on. The music will help a lot here and you will also be feeling a great sense of achievement, having finished an amazing workshop!
Silence can be very powerful – especially at the end of a workshop, where people are enjoying their own visions and feelings. Use your best judgement here, and flow with the feeling of the group.
When all participants appear to be more alert, start to move the body by guiding their attention to move their toes, fingers, feet, hands, legs, arms, torsos. This is a grounding exercise to bring participants back down to Earth and regain awareness of their physical body.
Then you can lead everyone to come back to a circle to close the ceremony.
Closing The Ceremony
Closing the ceremony, remember to express sincere gratitude to your participants for sharing this experience with you and with each other.
Now is the time to invite people to share (if they want to), to answer any questions, and to tell people what they can do if they want to learn more about SOMA Breath.
Sharing
Once you feel people are ready, you may check-in with them to see how they are feeling and how their experience was.
If you are inviting people to share, let them know they don’t have to if they don’t want to. Some participants may want to continue to hold the moment longer and be silent.
Sharing is a great way to gauge how your session went and to ensure everyone is grounded and fine to leave.
There may be times where someone has had an experience they want to share privately with you. There is guidance on how to approach this in later sections.

If you would like to gather testimonials from participants, make sure they have signed the waiver beforehand. It may be more convenient to ask a helper to film them for you, because other participants might have questions to ask you.
