RELEASE PHASE – In-Breath Retention and Release Copy

In the Release phase, you will guide participants to channel the built up energy from the root and sacral chakras up to their midbrain region (where the pineal gland is). The intention has been energised and now it’s time to release it out through the third eye and into the universe!

We look at two scripts here. The first script is an example for the first three rounds:

Rounds 1-3 Script:

“And when you get an urge to breathe, override the first sensation to breathe then take a nice deep full inhale, contract the pelvic floor muscles, pulling up your sexual energy through your root chakra….

Drawing up this energy straightening your back leaning your head slightly forward and screwing up your forehead, your third eye, and shooting this energy, this life force.. right up your spine and into your midbrain activating the seeds of your creative mind…

Hold your breath… …Thats right… Then let go with a sigh AUM

Bring yourself back to your normal breath breathing in gently and slowly staying relaxed”

The second script below is an example for the fourth round. Embodying the intention again and releasing it, detaching from the outcome.

Round 4 Script:

“…Fully in, contracting pelvic floor muscles shooting this electricity energy up your spine and into your midbrain, squeezing your forehead as you’re shooting a bright white light into the centre of the room…

Filling up a big orb of blue golden white light that grows bigger and bigger as you hold your breath and supercharge it emanates as it grows bigger and brighter….

This is your sacred energy, life force waking up to its true self… This is your higher power

Then let out a chant sending your intention into the beautiful ball of white light. AUM

Bring yourself back to normal breathing and enjoy the bliss as you connect to your higher self, higher power… …Open your heart and let the love pour in , open your mind and connect with the divine within”

Release Phase Breathwork

In-Breath Retention and Locks

In the final round of breathing in the Supercharge phase, there is one last out-breath retention. When you can’t hold your breath any longer here, you will feel a charge building up in your pelvic region. This is your root chakra releasing prana life force energy and stimulating your sacral chakra to stir up your creative sexual energy.

Then, as an instructor you will tell your students to take a big inhale, filling the lungs completely and activating the Mula Bandha lock and the Jalandhara lock. At the same time, they should visualise drawing that energy up their spine, into the brain stem and through to their midbrain region.

The in-breath hold brings balance back to your system, charging oxygen through your dilated blood vessels (from the out-breath hold), activating dormant areas of the brain, and raising SpO₂ levels back up to 95% and over.

The final in-breath can be held for as long as each participant feels is right for them.

Mula Bandha – Root Lock

In the Release phase, the Mula Bandha lock is held for the duration of the breath hold. This serves to channel all of that built up energy straight up the spinal cord and into the brain.

Jalandhara – Throat Lock

The Jalandhara should be initiated once you have completed the full inhale and visualised the energy shooting up into your brain. Then, lower your chin to your chest and visualise all of that energy now in your midbrain. In this case, the lock keeps the energy from travelling back down your spine.

Relax breath

Releasing the in-breath and exhaling slowly allows the participants to prepare for the next round of breathing.

After the final round, allow time for participants to enjoy the sensations and be present with the experience. Some participants may be experiencing an incredible state of bliss at this moment.

When all participants appear to be more alert, start to move the body by guiding their attention to move their toes, fingers, feet, hands, legs, arms, torsos. This is a grounding exercise to bring participants back down to Earth and regain awareness of their physical body.

When it feels right, you can guide everyone through some light stretches.
